Minaya puts his foot in his mouth, again!

According to WFAN, Minaya was reported to have said that, "bullpens don't win championships."

That has to be one of the stupidest comments Omar Minaya has made in recent times.

When I read that I wondered if that is the case, why did Minaya go out and pull one of his bonehead trades two years ago when then Met's reliever, Duaner Sanchez, was injured while riding a cab in Miami. He sent Xavier Nady to Pittsburgh for the 41 year old reliever and former Met Roberto Hernandez.
Turned out that Hernandez had outlived his effectiveness but again this trade was made to bolster the bullpen.
Minaya, you're not only incompetent, you're an idiot.

After today's poor fourth inning showing by John Maine, I wonder if any of the Mets' starters are really ready for the start of the season. Ok, so Maine was ill but he threw three good innings before he was lit up in the fourth.

Now its on to the west coast of Florida for games against Tampa and Baltimore.
Sunday is a workout day and then the Mets April schedule starts on Monday versus their nemesis, Florida.

The Mets don't look good and this is no April Fools joke.
