The Braves are in town

The Mets have a three game series against the Atlanta Braves who are also struggling early in the season, though not as much as New York.

Jerry Manual has decided to move some of the batting order around.

Jose Reyes is batting third behind Pagan and Castillo. Only time will tell whether this is a good move for the offense. Initially , though, I prefer Jose leading off.

David Wright has been moved to the fifth spot behind Bay who is batting clean up. Moving these two guys around might help. Bay is a streaky hitter. But David Wright is starting to worry me. He's swinging at pitches (like last year) that aren't even close and he looks so uncomfortable at the plate.
With Francoeur, Reyes and Bay in the lineup....Wright should not feel that he has to carry the team. If he does, it might be why he's not making contact and striking out so often.

The three games the Mets won over the Cubs were timely and we saw that Mike Pelfrey is starting to come back to his former self of two years ago. Jon Niese continues to battle well from the mound and Johan is pitching like a Cy Young Winner.

John Maine throws tonight and here's hoping that his fastball has more velocity and MOVEMENT.

Lets Go Mets!
