Mets 7 Marlins 2

Johan Santana was just what the doctor ordered. Throwing a beautiful seven innings, striking out 8 and making the most of his first National League start.
The Mets played well in the field and put up a six spot in the fourth inning.
Wright, Pagan, Beltran, Castillo, Reyes, and Church all contributed offensively.
I was laughing at the question to Randolph in the post-game press conference concerning Castillo and why he didn't score from first on the two out double. Chalk one up to Randolph....hope that Castillo survived the whipping I'm sure Willie dished out to him. ROFL
The crowd of more than 38,000 was seemingly dominated by Mets fans and it was fun to be part of the opening day festivities.
I'll be blogging after the second and third game. I have tickets to both and looking forward to seeing Pedro wow the crowd and calm the Marlin's bats tonight.

Record: Mets 1 - 0
