El Duque
I'm beginning to wonder if El Duque's best days are behind him. He was reported to have surgery on a bunion which turned out not to be true....the bunion gave him the problems with his foot at the end of the year, so why he didn't have the surgery is anyone's guess. He hasn't thrown bp yet and has not been even penciled in to pitch an inning or two of an exhibition game. Maybe it's time the Mets get serious with this old man and let him rest on the bench of New Orleans.....that's a joke but I'm seriously hoping that Mike Pelfrey can pitch like he did last September and we'll have our fifth starter--even if El Duque insists he's not going to be in the bullpen.
