Mets 3 Detroit 0

Nothing cures a losing streak like a road trip... at least that's what the Mets think. The Mets have only lost 9 games on the road and have the best road record in the major leagues. Jorge Sosa was masterful, pitching a four hitter and along with help from his defense and Billy Wagner's 14th save of the year, won his 6th game against one loss.
David Wright and Carlos Delgado added solo shots and Delgado drove in the third run with a sacrifice fly in the 9th.
Today the game is on FOX TV and has another great pitching matchup: Oliver Perez vs. Jeremy Bonderman. Bonderman is 5 -0 with a 3.27 Era and Perez is 6-4 with a 2.80 Era.
Met's starting pitching have gone 7 games allowing 3 ER or less.
With the bullpen getting a break in last night's game, maybe they can get back to their old almost "perfect" ways when they're called up again.
David Wright, Jose Reyes and Carlos Gomez all made terrific defensive plays to keep Detroit from mounting anything.
This was the first time New York has won in Detroit in their history. The last time these two teams met, ten years ago, the Mets were literally clobbered by the Tigers with the Tigers hitting 14 home runs in that three game series.
On Sunday, the Mets should have Shawn Green back in the lineup which means that Carlos Gomez will probably be sent down to New Orleans--unless Damion Easley is put on the DL because of soreness in his knee.
We're getting healthy slowly but surely.... come on Moises!!!!
